Job Summary
This role is for a Scientific Associate to join the Development Department at Eurofins GeneScan GmbH, the competence center for detecting Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). The associate will primarily focus on developing, optimizing, and validating DNA extraction and PCR methods, particularly real-time PCR, for the service laboratory. A key part of the job involves establishing and implementing automation solutions, including liquid handling systems, to streamline laboratory operations. The successful candidate will act as a crucial contact person, ensuring the smooth operation of the service lab. This position requires strong expertise in molecular biology techniques, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to technical problem-solving. Required Skills
Education
University or Technical College Degree (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology)
Experience
- Successfully completed university or technical college degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or comparable qualification
- Multi-year professional experience in a relevant area (clear advantage)
- Professional experience with molecular biological methods, especially real-time PCR
