Job Summary
This part-time (50%) Research Associate position at the Justus Liebig University Giessen focuses on cutting-edge research in Molecular Infection Biology, specifically investigating the molecular basis of parasite transmission, using the Plasmodium berghei and Anopheles vector models. The core responsibility involves applying reverse genetics, molecular biology, and advanced microscopy techniques to study cytoskeletal proteins throughout the parasite's life cycle. The successful candidate will also be expected to pursue their own scientific qualification (e.g., PhD or Habilitation), fulfill teaching duties according to state regulations, contribute to scientific publications, and mentor junior students. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field, is proficient in both English and German, and is prepared to learn new methods, including working with in-vivo models.
