Job Summary
This role requires a Service Developer to join the agile eScience group at GWDG, an IT competence center supporting the Max Planck Society and the University of Göttingen. The primary focus is on developing innovative applications for digital education, often utilizing Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Educational Practices (OEP). Day-to-day responsibilities include working on the ITsJOINTLY project to create a scalable, AI-supported content management system for learning materials. Tasks involve the application of generative AI, developing features based on Large Language Models (LLMs) for metadata generation and content analysis, and integrating various applications with existing AI infrastructure and educational APIs. The developer will also support partners in onboarding onto the platform and may contribute to developing collaboration features using decentralized social network protocols like Nostr. The ideal candidate holds a technical university degree and possesses strong programming skills, supporting researchers in their work.
Required Skills
Education
University Degree (Bachelor or Master) in Computer Science, Digital Humanities, Physics, Mathematics, or comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in a relevant field (if degree is comparable qualification)
- Experience supporting scientific researchers (Context of eScience group)

- Initial fixed-term contract of 24 months; Regular weekly working hours of 39 hours (suitable for part-time).
