Job Summary
This leadership role involves managing and organizing the Taxes and Levies department within the Finance division of the Tostedt municipal association, located near Hamburg. The Head of Department will be responsible for complex tax matters, including independent case processing related to municipal VAT (§2 UStG) and corporate tax affairs. A key focus will be the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a Tax Compliance Management System (TCMS), requiring risk analysis and the formulation of measures to ensure all tax obligations are met. The role also includes advising and training internal departments and member municipalities on tax law topics, handling tax pre-registrations, declarations, and assessing trade and entertainment taxes. Ideal candidates possess relevant professional qualifications (e.g., Certified Administrative Specialist, Tax Specialist, or a degree in Finance/Business with a tax focus) and strong communication skills.
Required Skills
Education
Certified Administrative Specialist (Angestelltenlehrgang II/Verwaltungsfachwirt), or Certified Tax Specialist (Steuerfachwirt), or a completed degree in Tax Administration, Financial Management, or Business Administration with a focus on Taxes, or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in the specified areas of tax and levy administration is desirable
