Job Summary
As a Laboratory Engineer at the European Campus Rottal-Inn (ECRI), you will be instrumental in maintaining the faculty's IT infrastructure. Your daily tasks will involve administering and maintaining IT systems, installing and configuring laboratory software, and providing essential first and second-level support to staff and students. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing support tickets, and creating user guides. Additionally, you will handle the procurement of new hardware and software, conduct market research, and manage the lifecycle of equipment. You will also support teaching activities by providing technical assistance, student instruction (including safety briefings), and adapting the laboratory environment. This role offers the opportunity to work in a modern, international, and research-intensive environment within a leading university of applied sciences.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Media Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field. Alternatively, a completed apprenticeship as an IT Specialist for System Integration or a comparable qualification. Cross-entry candidates with several years of relevant professional experience are also suitable.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT system integration or a comparable field
- Experience with IT infrastructure administration and maintenance
- Experience in providing IT support (First and Second Level)
- Experience with hardware and software procurement processes
- Experience in technical assistance and instruction, particularly safety training

- Temporary position for 2 years. Willingness to learn new topics. For foreign university degrees, a certificate evaluation from ZAB is required during the hiring process.
