Job Summary

This role involves applying various methods for materials science and mechanical analysis, as well as the characterization of battery cell materials and their individual components. Day-to-day tasks include performing mechanical-technological tests, microscopic techniques, chemical-physical methods, and powder analysis. The professional will also be responsible for maintaining measuring devices, coordinating with service centers for maintenance, calibration, and procurement. A key part of the role is supporting the development of analytical methods for evaluating materials and components, and assisting with production-accompanying analysis of semi-finished products and Li-ion cells at laboratory, pilot plant, and prototype scales. This position offers an opportunity to work on exciting projects for a renowned automotive OEM, contributing to the next generation of technology.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a (Chemical) Laboratory Technician, Materials Tester, Chemical-Technical Assistant, or a degree (B.Sc./M.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Process Engineering, or Materials Science.

Experience

  • Professional experience in an analytical laboratory or comparable environment
  • Experience with Lithium-ion battery cells is desirable
  • In-depth knowledge in applying various instrumental analytical methods (e.g., mechanical-technological, physical-chemical, chromatographic, spectroscopic, or electrochemical methods)
