Job Summary
Join the City of Wuppertal's Building Management (GMW) team as an Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in managing diverse construction projects across the city's extensive portfolio of public buildings. This position involves leading new construction, renovation, and expansion projects for schools, daycare centers, cultural venues, and administrative buildings. You'll be responsible for project and sub-project management, including steering and controlling construction measures, ensuring compliance with public law regulations, and overseeing external architects and contractors from planning to execution. This role offers the chance to apply your expertise in VOB A+B and HOAI, contributing to the sustainable development and future-proofing of Wuppertal's valuable building stock.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Dipl. Ing. (FH) / B. A., B. Sc. or B. Eng.) in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Alternatively, qualification as a Technician or Master Craftsman with equivalent skills and experience.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in the planning, execution, and project management of construction measures
- Several years of professional experience with complex construction projects (minimum fee zone IV of HOAI or experience with Europe-wide tendering procedures for construction services)
- Experience in cost control and controlling of construction measures
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B or 3 driving license and willingness to undertake business trips within the Wuppertal city area. Knowledge of project management and steering of external planning offices is beneficial. Experience with construction projects using federal and/or state funding is beneficial.
