Job Summary

As a Radiation Protection Expert at TÜV Rheinland, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety within nuclear technology and radiation protection. Your daily tasks will involve evaluating and preparing expert opinions, statements, and test reports for the operation, modification, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities, including radioactive waste storage and handling. You will also assess radiation protection measures, conduct metrological monitoring, and perform acceptance and recurring tests. Depending on your qualifications, you might conduct leak tests on radioactive materials or inspect facilities producing ionizing radiation. This role offers the opportunity to either continue your career as a Senior Expert or start as a Junior Expert with a structured onboarding program, learning from experienced mentors. This position is attractive for professionals passionate about impactful, safety-critical work in a highly specialized field.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Physics, Medical Physics, Radiochemistry, or another engineering/technical discipline. Advantageous: Recognized S 4.2 or S 6.3 expertise according to the Radiation Protection Ordinance.

Experience

  • Initial experience in radiation protection or nuclear technology
  • Demonstrable initial knowledge of legal foundations and regulations
  • Professional experience in expert assessment and report generation
