Job Summary
Join Hochschule Geisenheim University as a Laboratory Technician in the Institute for Soil Science and Plant Nutrition. In this full-time, permanent role starting October 1, 2025, you will actively contribute to teaching and research projects focused on soil science and plant nutrition, developing sustainable solutions for viticulture and horticulture. Your daily tasks will involve preparing and chemically analyzing soil, water, substrate, and plant samples, evaluating results, and maintaining various laboratory equipment. You will also advise on analytical methods, interpret results, and support students and colleagues in the lab. This position offers an engaging and varied environment within an innovative institution dedicated to sustainability for over 150 years.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Chemical-Technical Assistant (CTA), Agricultural-Technical Assistant, or comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in laboratory analysis
- Knowledge or willingness to learn relevant analytical procedures (e.g., total nutrient determination, humus analysis, soil testing)
- Ability to technically maintain, service, and repair laboratory equipment is an advantage
