Job Summary
This role is for a highly motivated Doctoral Researcher in Biochemistry to join the Electrobioengineering Chair at the Technical University of Munich. The successful candidate will focus on cutting-edge research in light-driven enzymatic hydrogen production and CO2 reduction, aiming to develop hybrid bioelectrochemical platforms for sustainable energy. Day-to-day tasks include planning and executing lab activities, conducting protein engineering, characterizing protein variants, documenting and analyzing data, and preparing scientific publications. The position also involves academic teaching support and student supervision, offering a dynamic and international research environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities and opportunities for international collaboration and conferences.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree (or equivalent) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field
Experience
- Practical experience in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Protein Biochemistry, Enzyme Assays, Spectroscopy, and Electrochemistry
- Strong interest in enzymatic catalysis, protein engineering, electrochemistry, and photochemistry
- Motivation to work in an interdisciplinary and international environment
- Ability to work independently
