Job Summary
As a Sr. Software Engineer specializing in GIS, you will be instrumental in guiding software solutions from initial concept through implementation to successful go-live, ensuring quality and project success. You'll join interdisciplinary teams, contributing to the entire engineering process, from requirements analysis and system design to implementation and project management. A key focus will be on designing, developing, and shaping modern applications within the GIS domain. You will also analyze existing system landscapes to propose technical and functional optimizations, support platform introductions in both cloud and on-premise environments, and create scalable solutions using modern microservice architectures. This role offers the opportunity to continuously adapt and evolve existing applications.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in (Geo)Informatics, Computer Science, or comparable qualification
Experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience
- Strong experience in implementing GIS solutions
- Experience with Open-Source GIS, ESRI, or comparable platforms
- Strong knowledge in backend development with Java or Node.js
- Experience with databases and frameworks like Spring Boot or Hibernate
- Experience with Agile methods
- Proficient in at least one modern JavaScript framework (Angular, Vue, or React)
- Familiarity with software development tools and concepts like DevOps, CI/CD, or Scrum
