Job Summary

As a Linux System Administrator, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation and security of Linux server environments. Your daily tasks will involve diagnosing and resolving system errors, providing 2nd and 3rd-level support for complex issues, and implementing robust security solutions like firewalls and VPNs. You'll be responsible for regular system updates, automating administrative tasks using scripting (Bash, Python), and managing configuration tools such as Ansible and Puppet. A key part of your role will be planning and executing data backup and disaster recovery strategies, maintaining system documentation, and reporting on system performance. Required Skills

Education

Completed IT training (e.g., IT Specialist, Computer Science degree) or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Several years of experience with Linux operating systems
  • Profound knowledge in the administration of Linux servers
  • Experience with network security, firewalls, VPN, and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, SSH)
  • Experience in process automation and server management using scripting (Bash, Python) and tools (Ansible, Puppet)
  • Experience with virtualization solutions (e.g., VMware, KVM) and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
