Job Summary

This role at the htw saar (University of Applied Sciences Saarland) involves comprehensive software development and project management for a module database. The successful candidate will independently develop and coordinate software projects, ensuring high availability and security. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, implementing, and deploying interfaces to external systems like examination offices (PA) and campus management (SAP-SLCM). The position also focuses on improving accessibility, look and feel, and usability of the database. Furthermore, the specialist will be crucial in implementing technical concepts for system accreditation and the 'Bilingual Campus' project, including presenting new features. This is a part-time (50%), two-year fixed-term position, offering a dynamic environment at an internationally oriented university.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or FH-Diplom in Computer Science, recognized in Germany

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT system administration
  • Professional experience in C and C++ software development for relational database systems
  • Professional experience in UNIX system administration, including installation and application of Open Source Software

Additional

  • Must possess a successfully completed and in Germany recognized university degree (Bachelor or FH-Diplom) in Computer Science. For foreign degrees, proof of equivalence to a German degree is required. This is a part-time (50%) position, initially limited to two years. Willingness to work in a team, reliability, communication and organizational skills, resilience, independent analytical and conceptual thinking, goal and results-oriented approach, and high problem-solving readiness are required.
