Job Summary
This challenging and varied role involves supporting the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (DEZA) logistics team, focusing specifically on the maintenance and technical readiness of humanitarian aid equipment, particularly in IT and telecommunications. Day-to-day responsibilities include article management, building and refurbishing aid kits, and managing the distribution and return of essential assets. You will utilize your practical knowledge of maintaining IT/Telecom hardware and software, including experience with IT security, data protection, and ticketing systems. Beyond technical tasks, you will coordinate and monitor shipping orders, perform general warehouse and logistics duties, and occasionally transport personnel and material using company vehicles. This position requires a reliable, structured, and results-oriented professional who is flexible, willing to learn, and prepared to participate in emergency and immediate relief operations as part of the logistics team, often outside regular working hours.
Required Skills
Education
Vocational training as a Logistics Specialist (EFZ) or equivalent professional experience
Experience
- Professional experience in logistics (equivalent to a Logistics Specialist EFZ qualification)
- Initial practical experience in the maintenance of IT and telecommunication devices
- Experience in IT security, data protection, and backup procedures
- Experience handling ticketing systems and support processes
- Possession of a Class B driving license
- Ideally, possession of a forklift license
