Job Summary

The Technical University of Dresden (TUD) is seeking a Technical Officer for Infrastructural Building Management to join its 'Physics of Life (PoL)' Cluster of Excellence. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of research facilities and laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical and infrastructural operation of buildings, including developing solutions for cost-effective management, designing and commissioning complex systems, and overseeing construction projects. They will also manage maintenance, repairs, and safety protocols, coordinate external service providers, and handle budget planning. This position offers a challenging and diverse role within a dynamic, international, and innovative team, contributing to cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in biology, biophysics, and computer science.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Biotechnology, Building Services Engineering, Facility Management, or a similar suitable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in laboratory and equipment management in a university or non-university research environment
  • Practical experience in biological or biophysical laboratories
  • Experience in the development and conception of complex buildings, systems, and apparatuses
  • Experience in leading corresponding construction phases
