Job Summary
This role at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg involves leading the immunological laboratory within the Department of Human Medicine, Immunology. The successful candidate will conceptualize immunological, cell, and molecular biological research projects, manage scientific staff, and mentor junior researchers. Key responsibilities include establishing new research directions, coordinating the workgroup, and significantly advancing the innovative methodological spectrum, such as developing organoids, artificial organs, single-cell RNA sequencing, and immunophenotyping via spectral cytometry. The position also requires active participation in acquiring intramural and extramural third-party funding, presenting research at conferences, publishing in journals, and contributing to immunological teaching. Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university degree in Biology, Molecular Medicine, Biochemistry, or a comparable life science field with an above-average grade, and a doctorate (PhD).
Experience
- Professional experience in immunobiological, cell, and molecular biological methods
- Experience with primary cell cultures
- Experience in flow cytometry
- Experience in imaging
- Experience in establishing organoids
- Routine in evaluating and presenting scientific results
- Professional experience in acquiring third-party funding (advantageous)
- Experience in handling experimental animals (advantageous)
- Experience in evaluating and analyzing flow cytometric or NGS data (advantageous)

- The position is offered for the maximum permissible fixed-term duration for habilitation according to the German Act on Fixed-Term Employment Contracts in Academia (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz), with the subsequent option for permanent employment. The role is suitable for part-time work. Habilitation opportunity provided.
