Job Summary

This role involves the precise measurement and testing of optical plastic parts and injection molding tools using advanced 3D coordinate measuring machines, interferometers, 3D scanners, and tactile measuring devices. The technician will be responsible for creating detailed measurement reports and capability analyses based on technical drawings. A key part of the job is supporting the development of measurement fixtures and strategies for statistical process control (SPC) in series production. The position also entails providing metrological consultation to various departments, suppliers, and customers, and performing functional tests in the optics lab. Ideal candidates will have a background in plastics, optics, or metal, with experience in 3D measurement, preferably with GOM Inspect, Calypso, and SolidWorks.
