Job Summary
As a System Engineer Storage, you will be a key player in ensuring the digital future of the German Armed Forces, contributing to the continuous enhancement of their command and operational capabilities. Your daily tasks will involve managing and optimizing the storage infrastructure, including IBM SVC and SAN components across various data centers, and operating IBM Tape Libraries. You will also be responsible for incident and change management, and supporting the Storage team in all related activities. This role requires a professional with a relevant vocational training or university degree, about 5 years of professional experience in the field, and a willingness to take ownership of technical topics. The position offers an opportunity to work on varied and socially relevant tasks, contributing to Germany's security within a stable and secure IT environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed 3-year specialized vocational training with additional qualification (e.g., Fachwirt, Techniker, Meister) or completed specialized university degree
Experience
- Approximately 5 years of professional experience in a related technical field, or up to 2 years of professional experience post-university degree
- Willingness to take responsibility for technical topics
- Professional experience with IBM Storage certifications (advantageous)
