Job Summary
Join Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) as a Physicist, contributing to the European Chips Act's Quantum Pilot Lines by innovating in quantum and semiconductor technologies. You will be an integral part of an international team, focusing on the development, fabrication, and testing of ion-trap chips (ITCs) using 200 mm wafer-level technology in cleanroom facilities. This role involves active participation in design, technological advancement, and communicating research findings to diverse audiences. You will also engage with industry and academic partners, contribute to project management, and occasionally support R&D project acquisition. This temporary position, with an expected duration of three years, offers the potential for a permanent role based on performance and future funding, providing a unique opportunity to shape the future of quantum technology.
Required Skills
Education
PhD or Master's degree in Physics, Quantum Technology, Electronics Engineering, or similar
Experience
- Background in trapped-ion quantum technology
- Some experience in semiconductor manufacturing
- Experience in an industrial environment is an asset
