Job Summary

This role at the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) involves a five-year fixed-term position focused on LiDAR data processing and quality assurance. The successful candidate will be responsible for validating LiDAR datasets, optimizing existing quality assurance procedures, and conducting tests with thorough documentation. Key tasks also include processing and managing geodata for diverse applications and usage scenarios within the Digital Twins department. This is an excellent opportunity for a Geoinformatics professional to contribute to critical national infrastructure and environmental initiatives, working with advanced geospatial technologies in a dynamic team environment in either Frankfurt a.M. or Leipzig.

Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences/Bachelor's degree in Geoinformatics, Geodesy, Surveying, or related fields

Experience

  • Experience in processing and analyzing LiDAR data
  • Professional experience with quality assurance methods for geodata
  • Practical experience with common software tools (e.g., LAStools, PDAL, GIS)
  • Basic experience in programming/scripting (e.g., Python, R)
