This role involves identifying, developing, and coordinating natural climate protection measures within protected areas in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The successful candidate will prioritize initiatives based on their impact on climate and biodiversity protection, aligning with EU Biodiversity Strategy goals. Key responsibilities include supporting nature conservation administrations with grant applications and implementation, assisting with stakeholder communication and public relations, and contributing to reporting. The position requires a scientific university degree in a relevant natural science field, strong German language skills, and the ability to work in challenging terrain. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diplom or Master) in a natural science field (preferably Nature Conservation and Landscape Planning, Forestry, Nature Conservation and Biodiversity Management, Biology, Management of Natural Resources)

Experience

  • Professional experience in identifying suitable protected areas for natural climate protection measures
  • Professional experience in developing and coordinating natural climate protection measures
  • Professional experience in prioritizing climate and biodiversity protection measures
  • Professional experience in supporting administrations with grant applications and implementation

  • Professional experience with FFH habitat types and plant species
