Job Summary

This leadership role at the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) in Ulm involves overseeing the Electrochemical Fundamentals (ECG) department. The successful candidate will be responsible for resource planning, budget control, and ensuring the achievement of departmental and project goals. A key aspect of the role is acting as a liaison with industry, scientific partners, and funding bodies, actively shaping the innovation process at ZSW by scouting new thematic areas and coordinating technology transfer to SMEs and industry. The position also requires building national and international collaborations and representing the ZSW at conferences and associations, contributing to cutting-edge applied energy research for future energy supply.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering or similar, with a doctorate (PhD)

Experience

  • Scientific expertise in at least one of the following areas: fuel cells, electrochemistry, electrolysis, and aqueous batteries
  • Experience in the acquisition and execution of industrial cooperations and services
  • Experience in national and international publicly funded collaborative projects
  • Leadership experience
