Job Summary

As an Expert in Metallography for Materials Development, you will be a key member of the metallographic and material mechanics laboratories, independently managing assignments and selecting the most appropriate analytical methods. Your role involves advancing existing analytical techniques and collaborating with the team to address complaints and damage cases, working closely with other laboratories. You will conduct comprehensive metallographic investigations, from sample preparation to microscopic analysis using light and electron microscopes, and perform quantitative image analysis of microstructures. Your findings will be interpreted and documented in laboratory reports. This position involves contributing your expertise directly to research and development projects, ensuring products remain state-of-the-art through team discussions and insights. This is a part-time role, requiring strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Metallography, Material Characterization, Materials Engineering, or equivalent; alternatively, a completed apprenticeship as a Technical Assistant for Metallography and Materials Science with relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in metallography and materials science
  • Good knowledge of light microscopic analysis methods
  • Experience with aluminum materials is preferred
  • Experience with electron optical devices is preferred
  • Basic knowledge in order processing and error analysis is preferred
