Job Summary

As a Senior Backend/Data Engineer, you will be a key member of the Audience team at Zalando Marketing Services (ZMS), responsible for designing, developing, and operating a customer segmentation platform. Your day-to-day will involve innovating collaboratively with cross-functional teams, enhancing and expanding large-scale batch-processing pipelines, and spearheading the development of resilient architectures. This role requires a strong foundation in software engineering, hands-on experience with open-source technologies on AWS, and proficiency in SQL, Java/Scala, and Python for large-scale data processing. You will contribute to a culture of quality and innovation through clean code practices and insightful code reviews, with a strong emphasis on data quality, privacy, and governance. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced data processing and machine learning solutions to enhance targeted marketing campaigns for ~50 million active customers across Europe.
