Job Summary

This role is for a Biomedical Technical Assistant (BTA) at the Institute of Pathology, Department of Molecular Pathology, at Philipps University Marburg. The successful candidate will be involved in translational and molecular tumor research, focusing on validating new molecular biomarkers for therapy response in malignant tumors, particularly breast, pancreatic, and ovarian carcinomas. Day-to-day tasks include performing molecular biological analyses on research and routine FFPE tumor tissue samples using methods like PCR, qPCR, and Next-Generation Sequencing with advanced equipment such as Illumina Sequencers and pipetting robots. The position also involves preparing paraffin blocks and tissue sections, processing histological and cytological FFPE samples, performing various stainings, and documenting genetic data.
