This role involves the operation, maintenance, and development of complex network infrastructures, focusing on LAN technology within core, distribution, and access network areas. The IT Specialist will be responsible for setting up and commissioning network components, expanding logical network structures, and implementing IT security regulations. A key part of the role also includes coordinating with external contractors for construction activities, evaluating bids, and overseeing construction sites. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (e.g., System Integration), IT Systems Electronics Technician, or in a comparable IT specialization (e.g., Electronics Technician - Devices and Systems; formerly Communication Electronics Technician, Telecommunications Craftsman).

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the setup, operation, and maintenance of complex data networks or comparable activities
  • Current specialized knowledge and experience in general telecommunications and communication technology
  • Current specialized knowledge and experience in network technology
  • Current specialized knowledge and experience in network error analysis
  • Experience in using a ticket system (e.g., ARS REMEDY or similar)

Additional

  • Willingness to undergo an extended security clearance check (SÜG). Readiness to provide alternating service hours, work overtime during session weeks, and participate in special forms of work (e.g., on-call duties). Knowledge of the organizational structure and workflows within the Bundestag administration, parliament, and its committees. Strong diligence, reliability, high resilience, flexibility, organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work service-oriented and independently, even under time pressure. Friendly, confident, and obliging demeanor on the phone and in person.
