Job Summary
Join BakerHicks, a leading consulting firm in energy transmission and distribution, as a Senior Substation Engineer in the DACH region. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and developing primary layouts for high-voltage substations (110–400 kV), creating technical specifications for primary equipment, and performing critical calculations related to load capacity, short-circuit forces, grounding, and induced voltages. You will lead substation engineering projects, collaborate with UK design teams, and ensure all designs comply with technical requirements and country-specific standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse European projects involving HVAC, HVDC, overhead line, and cable systems, fostering professional growth within an international team focused on innovative energy infrastructure solutions.

- Proven experience in creating or managing designs, calculations, reports, and drawings for high-voltage power transmission systems, HVDC connections, or renewable energy infrastructure in the DACH region
- Experience as a design service provider for transmission and distribution network operators in the DACH region, covering all phases from feasibility to detailed design
- In-depth technical knowledge of high-voltage substations
