Job Summary
The Federal Office of Justice (BfJ) is seeking a System Administrator to join their IT Operations and Service department in Bonn. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration of various operating systems, with a strong focus on SPARC/Solaris servers and storage systems supporting specialized applications. Your day-to-day tasks will involve system monitoring, log file analysis, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and conceptual development of IT systems. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a central federal authority, ensuring the stability and efficiency of critical IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in computer science or a related field, strong IT security fundamentals, and excellent German language skills, coupled with a service-oriented and cooperative mindset.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or relevant Engineering/Natural Sciences with an IT focus; or a university degree in another field with relevant IT experience; or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience acquired through education, training, and professional employment; or qualification for the higher-level non-technical or technical administrative service.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT operations as a system administrator
- Experience in administering diverse operating systems (Windows, Solaris, various Linux derivatives)
- Focus on supporting SPARC/Solaris servers and storage systems for specialized applications
- Experience in system monitoring, log file analysis, and error resolution
- Experience in system load analysis and performance optimization
- Experience in conceptual development and implementation of system changes
