Job Summary
This role involves shaping the implementation of 525 kV HVDC underground cable solutions for a leading German transmission system operator, a key player in Germany's energy transition towards 100% renewables by 2032. The engineer will optimize cable routes, and ensure the technical and logistical feasibility, safety, and efficiency of cable installation. Day-to-day tasks include participating in approval processes, planning civil engineering measures, and acting as a technical interface to cable suppliers. The position requires a strong background in high-voltage engineering, particularly HVDC cable technology, and experience in cable system installation. This is an attractive opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects, offering a mix of remote and on-site work in Berlin and northern Germany, with a competitive salary and an unlimited contract.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Diplom/Master) in Engineering, with a focus on Electrical High-Voltage Technology, Energy Technology, or comparable field
Experience
- More than 3 years in HVDC high and extra-high voltage cable technology
- Professional experience in AC or DC cable system installation
- Multiple years of professional experience in relevant areas
- Participation in at least two projects in a relevant role/function, with a minimum of 2 years total experience
- Over 5 years in HVAC/DC high and extra-high voltage cable technology (preferred)
- Project management experience (preferred)
