Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering Sciences, Economics, or a related field with comparable competencies, accompanied by a relevant doctorate.
Experience
- Professional experience in core digitalization topics, especially infrastructure and software development
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical professional experience outside the university sector in digital infrastructures, cloud/edge/fog computing, IoT/Industry 4.0, distributed systems, and software development (CI/CD, DevOps)
- Experience in applying innovative teaching, learning, and examination methods in higher education
- Experience in conducting courses for a large number of students
- Relevant research achievements and publication/presentation activities
- Desirable: Experience in acquiring and conducting third-party funded projects for application-oriented research
- Desirable: Relevant contacts in industry and academia at regional and national levels

- Eligibility for a professorship in accordance with § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz-HG), including a university degree, proven scientific aptitude (typically through a doctorate), and special achievements in applying or developing scientific knowledge and methods during five years of professional practice (at least three years outside the university sector) in a relevant field.
