Job Summary
This role is for an experienced Project Manager/Civil Engineer specializing in road construction, focusing on climate-adapted urban design. You will lead and manage planning and construction projects, acting as the client representative for externally commissioned works. Key responsibilities include preparing tenders, awarding contracts, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, particularly the Office for Roads and Traffic. A significant part of the role involves promoting climate-resilient road design, such as 'sponge city' concepts, and overseeing external contractors through all HOAI service phases. You will independently manage project quality, costs, and timelines, engage in public participation processes, and represent the organization in meetings. This position offers a chance to contribute to sustainable urban development in Bremen.
Required Skills
Education
Diploma Engineer (FH) or Bachelor of Science/Engineering in Transportation and Road Construction
Experience
- Several years of relevant professional experience in project management for construction projects
- Experience in the public sector (preferred)
- Knowledge in all service phases of HOAI
- Experience in conducting public participation procedures and engaging residents
- Knowledge of grant management (ideally)
- Experience with public procurement and budget law (ideally)

- Class B driving license required. The position is temporary for 4 years. Work permit for Germany required.
