Job Summary

This leadership role at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) involves heading the Test Facilities and Infrastructure department, focusing on the research and development of electrified aircraft propulsion systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the disciplinary and scientific leadership of staff, overseeing the design, implementation, operation, and scientific direction of test stands, particularly within the HepCo test environment. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma in Natural Sciences (e.g., Physics) or Engineering Sciences (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) or other relevant fields with a focus on Aerospace Engineering.

Experience

  • Long-term experience in planning and executing experimental aviation projects or similar large-scale research projects
  • Proven leadership responsibility for acquisition, personnel, budgets, deadlines, and scientific quality
  • Several years of experience in the conception and construction of research test stands

  • Security clearance according to the Security Clearance Act (SÜG) is a prerequisite for employment at DLR, as is the willingness to undergo a security check according to §8 ff SÜG. This is a fixed-term contract for 3 years.
