Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated Research Associate specializing in botanical species protection at the Bavarian Centre for Species Protection (BayAZ) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing species conservation programs for endangered plant species, particularly focusing on the Alpine and pre-Alpine regions. Key responsibilities include developing strategies for state-level nature conservation instruments, supporting FFH-monitoring for mosses and vascular plants, and providing expert advice on botanical species protection, neophytes, invasive species, and cryptogams. The position requires strong botanical and vegetation knowledge, experience with nature conservation data, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with volunteer nature conservation groups and contribute to public relations.
