Job Summary

This PhD position offers talented scientists the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research within the International PhD Programme (IPP) Mainz, focusing on "Molecular Mechanisms in Genome Stability & Gene Regulation." The successful candidate will join the research group of Siyao Wang to investigate the transgenerational epigenetic memory of paternal DNA damage, specifically how DNA damage in sperm alters offspring epigenomes and affects genome stability and longevity across generations. The project uses C. elegans as a model to explore histone modifications' role in genome stability and transgenerational inheritance, aiming to identify therapeutic approaches to improve genome stability. This role is ideal for ambitious scientists eager to push research boundaries in an international, interdisciplinary environment, offering comprehensive training and fully funded positions.
