Job Summary

This role involves conducting and supporting melting experiments on a fully electric melting tank within the Technology Application Center, including laboratory investigations, data analysis, report writing, and preparing publications. The successful candidate will lead small projects, contribute significantly to new project proposals by integrating industrial partner requirements, and regularly coordinate with project partners. Additionally, the position includes performing contract research and services for industrial partners in glass melting technologies and materials, conducting experiments and analyses in the field of glass, and documenting and presenting research results. The role also entails laboratory responsibility, including operating various lab equipment such as laser scanning microscopy, DTA, and dilatometry, alongside adhering to safety regulations and handling chemicals. The position actively supports and encourages pursuing a doctorate.

Required Skills

Education

University Diploma (Uni Diplom) or Master's degree in Glass or Material Sciences or related fields

Experience

  • Professional experience in the glass industry (advantageous)
  • In-depth knowledge of glass technology and chemistry
  • Experience in process and project management
