Job Summary

The Aachen Police Department is seeking a dedicated IT Investigator to join their Cybercrime unit. In this full-time, permanent role, you will be instrumental in supporting criminal investigations by conducting in-depth research in data networks for law enforcement, threat prevention, and analysis. Your day-to-day will involve evaluating prepared data in complex cases, analyzing intricate network structures and databases, and preparing legally admissible documentation for court. You'll also participate in on-site evidence collection during searches, provide technical advice in IT-related operational situations, and contribute to specialized training programs. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or equivalent 'Diplom-Ingenieurin/Diplom-Ingenieur') in Informatics, Communication Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or IT Forensics.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of practical experience
  • Proven current knowledge in computer and internet forensics
  • Experience working with English-language technical literature and documentation

Additional

  • Class B driving license (formerly Class 3) is desirable. Willingness to work outside regular hours, participate in further training, and be on-call. No prior criminal convictions or pending criminal/investigation proceedings.
