Job Summary

This Research Associate position at TU Bergakademie Freiberg focuses on advanced materials science, specifically investigating and utilizing mechanisms to control degradation processes in wear-reducing aluminum-rich (Ti,Al)N layers. You will conduct detailed structural and microstructural analyses using techniques like X-ray and electron diffraction, spectroscopy, and microscopy, developing microstructural models. A key part of the role involves describing the influence of alloying elements and defects on high-temperature stability and oxidation resistance, as well as modeling interdiffusion and tribo-chemical reactions.
