Job Summary

This Research Associate position at TU Bergakademie Freiberg focuses on advanced materials science, specifically investigating and utilizing mechanisms to control degradation processes in wear-reducing aluminum-rich (Ti,Al)N layers. You will conduct detailed structural and microstructural analyses using techniques like X-ray and electron diffraction, spectroscopy, and microscopy, developing microstructural models. A key part of the role involves describing the influence of alloying elements and defects on high-temperature stability and oxidation resistance, as well as modeling interdiffusion and tribo-chemical reactions. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with project partners, present findings at international conferences, and publish in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to cutting-edge research in materials engineering.
