The successful candidate will develop, implement, and test computational tools and workflows for standardizing and ensuring the robustness of mass spectrometry-based omics data. This role involves close collaboration with experimental and clinical researchers to validate these tools and methods, contributing to open-source software projects and community standards, and publishing scientific results. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about bioinformatics, systems biology, and method development for interpreting biological data, offering an excellent environment for cutting-edge research at PTB and TU Braunschweig with strong supervisory support and no teaching obligations.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Diplom/Master) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or equivalent
Experience
- Programming experience in R, Python, or similar languages (e.g., via GitHub projects, published pipelines, or analysis scripts)
- Experience in reproducible science, open-source development, and FAIR data principles
- Knowledge of mass spectrometry-based metabolomics/proteomics or omics data analysis (advantageous)
- Experience in machine learning or deep learning (advantageous)
