Job Summary

This role involves joining a dynamic, international 15-member team at the Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences (CIDS) at TU Dresden, focusing on the administration and support of petascale High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the installation of new HPC clusters and the migration of accounts, data, and workflows. Day-to-day tasks include system monitoring, provisioning, accounting, and software installation, alongside developing new HPC services and troubleshooting technical issues. This position offers the chance to contribute to cutting-edge research infrastructure, provide crucial support to scientific users, and engage in continuous learning and development within a supportive, family-friendly university environment. The role is initially fixed-term with a strong aim for permanent employment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor / Diploma (FH)) in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar IT-related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience (e.g., vocational qualification as an IT specialist with further qualification).

Experience

  • Professional experience in a comparable task area
  • Experience in deploying and programming high-performance computers (desired)
  • Several years of relevant professional experience (if professional qualification is primary)

  • Fixed-term contract until March 31, 2027, with the aim of continued employment. Part-time work is possible. Must possess a high degree of diligence, commitment, and independence.
