Job Summary

This role involves shaping Germany's future energy system by contributing to the development and stability of the electricity transmission network. The expert will primarily work within departments focusing on network development, system stability, and security of supply. Key responsibilities include developing energy scenarios, evaluating future energy supply systems for network-side security and expansion needs, and supporting the review and approval of the scenario framework. The position also entails conducting computer-aided simulations for electrical network aspects, interpreting results, and refining simulation software. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (300 ECTS points) or Diplom (University) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Physics (for Dept. 626 only), Economics (for Dept. 624 only), Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in energy economics indicators and energy system forecasting
  • Experience with the European electricity internal market is an important aspect
  • Experience in evaluating and answering technical questions related to the transmission network
  • Experience in conducting computer-aided simulations for electrical network aspects (e.g., network utilization/redispatch, voltage and frequency control)
  • Experience in developing and refining test criteria, methods, and simulation software
  • Experience in collaborating with energy industry stakeholders and ministries
