This role involves ensuring the seamless flow of meteorological data connections for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) with national and international partners. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting Geoinformation (GeoInfo) technical systems, correcting and documenting faulty reports, and operating consoles to monitor data traffic between various endpoints, NATO communication centers, the German Weather Service (DWD), and military air traffic control. A key aspect is communicating with these entities in both German and English. The position requires managing incoming meteorological reports, providing emergency support during outages, and overseeing central server and storage systems. Required Skills

Education

Civil Service Qualification for the Intermediate Scientific Service - Meteorology OR Completed vocational training as an IT Assistant, IT Specialist, IT Systems Electronics Technician, IT Systems Technician, or a comparable professional qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in telecommunications operations and data processing
  • Professional experience with the Linux operating system
