Job Summary

This role is for a Research Associate and Doctoral Candidate within the Department of Neurology at Philipps University, focusing on movement disorders and neuromodulation. The successful candidate will contribute to the European research consortium TRACE-PD, funded by JPND and BMBF. Day-to-day tasks involve supporting MRT data collection from patients with movement disorders, analyzing MRT and PET imaging data to identify correlates of degeneration and compensatory processes in early Parkinson's disease, and authoring scientific texts for consortium publications. This position offers an excellent opportunity for independent scientific work and doctoral qualification in multimodal imaging of movement disorders, collaborating with leading European research groups and potentially undertaking an international stay at the Donders Institute in the Netherlands.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Diploma, Master, or equivalent) in Neuroscience, Human Biology, Psychology, or a comparable discipline. Willingness to pursue a doctoral project in multimodal imaging of movement disorders is required.

Experience

  • Experience in the analysis of brain imaging data (PET or MRT)
  • Strong interest in researching neurodegenerative diseases, especially early-stage Parkinson's disease processes
