Job Summary
The City of Hameln is seeking a dedicated Water Protection and Maintenance Engineer to join its Environmental and Climate Protection Department. This full-time, fixed-term position, with the aim of permanent employment, involves crucial work in the lower water authority. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance of municipal waters, from planning and tendering to execution and monitoring of hydraulic engineering measures, and developing maintenance plans. The role also encompasses processing water law applications, preparing documents for water protection regulations, and participating in emergency on-call services for incidents involving water-polluting substances. Additionally, the engineer will manage and update geodata, creating essential map materials. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Water Management, Hydraulic Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Technical Environmental Protection, or a comparable technical-engineering science field
Experience
- Professional experience with Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Professional experience with water law (WHG, NWG, DWA guidelines, building law, DIN standards, HOAI)
- Physical resilience for on-site inspections
- Training in "Accidents with water-polluting substances" or willingness to obtain it
