Job Summary

This role involves hands-on development and research within intelligent electrical energy systems, specifically focusing on DC grids at DHBW Mosbach. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and commissioning an intelligent electrical energy system, including the development and testing of power electronic systems, energy storage solutions, PV and wind power systems, and bidirectional prosumer solutions in real network operations. A key aspect of the role is the investigation of grid-compatible solutions through prototyping DC/DC converters, MPP trackers, and battery management systems. The position also entails system analysis and optimization using AI, in collaboration with the "Digital Factory" at DHBW Mosbach, alongside the preparation of scientific publications and a dissertation. This is an attractive opportunity for a motivated individual with a background in electrical engineering or mechatronics, offering a chance to contribute to cutting-edge research in renewable energy and smart grids.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable field. Qualification as an electrician is a plus.

Experience

  • Experience in commissioning and developing power electronic systems
  • Knowledge in holistic system analysis, including simulation and metrological verification
  • Competence in setting up and, if applicable, coordinating DC networks
  • Experience in prototype development, as well as setting up and wiring control cabinets, possibly in cooperation with external partners
