Job Summary

This role involves the conceptualization, implementation, operation, and continuous development of IT infrastructure, specifically focusing on Linux deployment systems using Ansible and AWX within the Faculty of Mathematics at TU Dresden. Day-to-day tasks include managing a central Linux deployment system, developing and implementing security policies, optimizing deployment processes, and leading IT projects to introduce new applications and technical solutions. The administrator will also be responsible for the full lifecycle management of end-user devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices), providing 2nd level support, and coordinating IT infrastructure maintenance and troubleshooting. This position requires a degree in Computer Science or a related field, deep knowledge of Linux deployment tools like Ansible, and experience managing heterogeneous computing infrastructures, offering an opportunity for autonomous work in a complex academic IT environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Diplom FH) in Computer Science or similar suitable field, or equivalent knowledge and abilities

Experience

  • Professional experience in a comparable field of activity
  • Deep knowledge in 2nd Level Support and with ticket systems
  • Experience in device management and end-device administration
  • Experience and knowledge in managing heterogeneous computing infrastructures
