Job Summary

This role is critical for advancing life-changing cell and gene therapies, focusing on the development and manufacturing processes for viral vectors. The Biotechnician will be responsible for the preparation, calibration, and operation of fermentation and harvesting equipment, playing a key role in executing development and production procedures for cell cultivation, including media preparation, analytics, and cell separation. A significant part of the job involves inoculum preparation, such as thawing and passaging cell cultures and performing shake flask cultivations. The successful candidate will utilize strong analytical skills for planning, executing, and evaluating complex experiments, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and implementing new methods. This position requires adherence to safety regulations, participation in weekend/on-call duties, and active contribution to team development through training and guidance, all within a dynamic, international environment focused on bringing therapies from clinic to market.

Required Skills

Education

Biotechnician qualification, or Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, or a comparable natural science field

Experience

  • Professional experience in cell culture, particularly in manufacturing procedures for pharmaceutical active ingredients
  • Professional experience with sterile working techniques
  • At least one year of relevant professional experience in a comparable environment (if no specific Biotechnician qualification is held)
