Job Summary

This role is for an Environmental Protection Engineer within Hamburger Energienetze GmbH, a major energy distribution network operator in Hamburg. The primary responsibility is serving as the Water Protection Officer in accordance with the German Water Resources Act (§65 WHG). Day-to-day activities involve continuously monitoring and evaluating environmental legislation, conducting environmental audits, performing site inspections, and analyzing corporate risks arising from environmental impacts. The engineer will manage environmental permitting processes, handle communication with regulatory authorities, and participate in relevant industry working groups.
