Job Summary

This role is for a Natural Scientist or Molecular Biologist to join the Public Health Microbiology department in Oberschleißheim, focusing on human virology and medical diagnostics within an accredited DIN EN ISO 15189 laboratory. The position involves contributing to and developing the Bavarian Influenza and Corona Sentinel programs, and advancing laboratory automation procedures, including troubleshooting and collaborating with external manufacturers. Key responsibilities include hands-on lab work, primarily PCR, melt curve analysis, and infection serology, to generate and analyze molecular epidemiological and serological data. The successful candidate will also assist in analyzing infectious disease outbreaks, maintaining various databases, and supporting quality management initiatives. A completed university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Natural Sciences, coupled with experience in molecular biology methods, new molecular technologies, and S2/S3 laboratory work, is essential for this challenging and impactful public health role.
