Job Summary

This role is ideal for an experienced scientist specializing in downstream processing within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector. The core focus is on delivering and troubleshooting all downstream work packages related to process transfer and life cycle projects, specifically concerning mammalian cell processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing concepts within Manufacturing Science Drug Substance, ensuring alignment across the internal network, and preparing critical documentation for regulatory filings. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will drive scientific decisions and foster collaboration with international partners. Key requirements include a PhD with initial experience or a Master’s degree with several years of industrial experience, strong technical expertise in scale-up/scale-down methodologies, Design of Experiments (DoE), and statistical approaches. The position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, innovative environment, utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to manage multiple priorities, with the benefit of 20% mobile work flexibility after the initial onboarding phase.

Required Skills

Education

PhD or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, or Chemistry

Experience

  • Initial relevant work experience (for PhD holders)
  • Several years of relevant industrial experience (for Master's holders)
  • Strong technical and scientific expertise in downstream processing
  • Experience in process transfer or commercial manufacturing (Advantageous)
