Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the smooth operation and high availability of the technical infrastructure for the E-File platform within the City of Stuttgart's digitalization department. The IT Engineer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and operating the Windows-based server components, focusing heavily on stability, scalability, and IT security. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with internal IT teams and external service providers, supporting application owners in integrating the Document Management System (DMS) with central services like backup solutions, directory services, and databases, and performing technical operation and customizing of server components. Key requirements include a Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent professional experience, combined with strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, virtualization, and PowerShell, along with C1 German proficiency. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable field; or completed IT vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist) with equivalent skills and experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in Windows Server administration, datastore, backup, and virtualization technologies
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience (required for candidates without a Bachelor's degree)
  • Experience in the public sector or complex administrative structures (ideal)
